this morning #662.

this morning, while she patiently waited for her aide to arrive & flipped through an old issue of people magazine, that radiating thump in her left leg returned. she could go to the kitchen & take her meds herself but thought it was probably best to just wait out the pain for a couple more minutes. help was sure to arrive soon enough so, for now, she’d distract herself with hollywood gossip. the older she got, the less she identified with these bright-toothed celebrities but reading about their lives helped her feel connected to the glamorous days of her past. while she still felt fashionable, having to rely on a hired hand just to get through the day dulled a whole lot of that shine.
