this morning, there were so many distractions online that she’d spent the last two hours bouncing around, failing to stick with one topic for more than a few minutes. skinny blonde girls dancing to gangsta rap. expensive italian shoes. american right-wing politics. cute dogs. cute babies. cute boys. by the time she caught herself & wondered whether it was healthy for her to get so lost in a fog, she panicked, realizing that she’d mistakenly missed a meeting. nobody had bothered to reach out & ask where she was, which only increased her panic. she closed down her browser & called up her boss. it was probably time to start paying attention to her job.
