this morning #400.
this morning, though his heart was normally surrounded by ice, today his generosity was straight fire. by this point it had become a tradition, something started by his late uncle jerry way back during the reagan administration. on the third sunday of every july, he & varied members of his family would drive down to peterson’s ice cream stand, post up outside & buy ice creams for the first hundred people who showed up. at first, given all the skeletons in uncle jerry’s closet, folks were skeptical of his motives. by the third year, he’d joined his uncle for the giveaway. people’s skepticism had faded away. on this one & only day, for a brief bit, the smiles helped his skepticism toward others fade away too.
