this morning #390.
this morning, she slipped out of her clothes & turned on the shower. as she waited for the water to heat up, she turned to the mirror & took in her ever-expanding array of tattoos. a sunflower on her lower back. the yankees logo on her right shoulder. vines & flowers flowing from her crotch to her left ankle. SO many tattoos from different life phases. SO much money spent decorating her body. “tattoo privilege” flashed across her mind. white men with tattoos were nazis. black men got them in prison. tattooed black women were likely strippers. hispanic men & women got them in a gang. as a white woman, her tattoos made her look edgy. now they were starting to make her feel guilty.
