this morning #2267.
this morning, in total, there were two dozen of them milling around out in the parking lot of our apartment complex. i let the curtain drop & stepped away from the window. joined my wife in the kitchen. “what’s the matter, hon?” can’t hide anything from her, can i? “you’re never going to believe this. the cats are back.” she sighed. lit up a smoke. “i can believe it. those cats are assholes.” it’s true. raucous bunch of strays. back in may, a colony of the lil’ buggers began showing up all over the complex grounds. murdering birds for sport. mewing around at all hours of the evening. we managed to trap a bunch of them. the rest of them ran away. for two months, we’ve had peace. temporary relief. i lit up a smoke of my own & grabbed my phone. “i’ll give the super a call.”
