this morning, a silky voice sang softly out of the speakers. smooth tones sliced straight through the pounding of the rain in a way that massaged her nerves. she sank down into the couch & took in her surroundings. this comfy two-room bungalow mere minutes from the beach. rustic. for the next two weeks, this is the setting for her first ever creative retreat. time to actually get some painting done. free of distraction. she gazed out at the grey sky outside. prayed for the rain to cease even though she knew that being stuck inside would help with her focus. fretted about that until the silky voice brought her back. she set a timer. no more fooling around. ten minutes & she’d get up off the couch. work on setting up her workspace.
