this morning #1431.

this morning, they’d packed us all into a tiny back room. a closet, really. told us to sit tight. said that someone would be with us in short order. the door closed & the lock clicked. at first, we all stayed silent. none of us knew if we were being watched so we all tried to stay calm. nobody wanted to make things worse than they already were. i looked around the room. didn’t see any cameras. there were a bunch of places where they could be hiding. within minutes, a tiny woman crammed into the corner broke the silence. “they can’t treat us like this.” a creaky-looking man standing next to her scoffed at her comment. “well they obviously can, sweetie.” then the shouting began. we all braced for impact.
