this morning #1432.
this morning, everything around me was blue. clear skies as far as the eye could see. calm water stretching out in all directions. me floating alone in this rowboat, a blue tarp draped over my head, all i could do to protect myself from the elements. every so often, a gull interrupted my monotony, slicing a path through the sky. they’d warned me not to take the boat out solo. asked me to sit tight until they returned from running errands. i’ve never been a patient person. figured i’d just take the boat out for a quick trip around the bay. why wait? ten minutes in, i felt great. twenty minutes in, i went to scratch my back & dropped one of the oars into the ocean. six hours later, i’m very much adrift.
