this morning #1043.

this morning, we were both way into our phones. fully focused. heads tilted down. tapping. scrolling. a classic case of “together but alone.” i recognized it as it was happening but chose not to do a damn thing about it. chose to keep on scrolling through social media instead of forming a direct connection with my boyfriend. he wasn’t paying any attention to me either. i mean, it’s not like we always have to be all up in each other’s stuff. right? it’s ok to just enjoy each other’s presence. right? if that time together is enhanced by videos of cats frightened by mirrors, what’s the harm in that? he asked if i wanted to do anything today. i heard his words clearly but only responded with a shrug.
