this morning #747.

this morning, as we all waddled down the jetway, a child of four or five kept looking back at me & sticking his tongue out. at first, i smiled back at him but eventually, after two minutes of this, i started to ask myself “what the hell is this kid’s problem?” his parents were so consumed in each other that they had no clue the way that their son was engaging with a complete stranger. that’s when he gave me the finger. i turned to the woman behind me for comradery but it was clear she hadn’t seen a thing. given that we were going to be stuck on the same plane for a few hours, i decided to let it slide. didn’t even alert his parents. he’ll likely end up in jail one day anyway. let that be his punishment.
