this morning #698.

this morning, a wiry old woman hovering behind her tapped her on the shoulder with a bony appendage as she waited in line for her latte. of course, when a stranger physically touches you in public, societal norms dictate that you have to respond somehow. it doesn’t matter if you’re fully awake & ready to engage or not. you’re expected to turn around & figure out why the hell they’ve decided to inject themselves into your morning. it’s your choice if you want to be pleasant about the whole thing. in this case, though her gut instinct was to swipe the hag’s hand aside, she chose to hide her disdain for seniors & respect her elders for once. turned out her backpack was open.
