this morning, it had officially become offensive how often she showed up at the office demanding respect from anyone who would listen. it helped that she had a nice smile but after a while, her charm was no longer sufficient enough to counteract her indignation. it’d all started when she felt she’d been passed over for promotion one too many times. “not serious enough,” they said. “not management material,” they said. they weren’t entirely wrong but eventually she’d been there long enough that they had to reward her & now she used her position to lord over people. if they didn’t take her seriously, she made sure to remind them just who she was & just who they were, respectively.
