this morning, he tightened his tie in the mirror, its simple pattern super unassuming. for as far back as he could remember, he’d sported a tie everywhere he went. it was a straight-up class in straight-up class. nothing flashy. nobody questioned this old-fashioned fashion choice. even if they’d considered it, his disarming charm would capture their attention & waylay any mention. this charisma usually took the form of simple, straight-faced jokes or gentle, straight-laced ribbings & he’d employ this style many times today & for many days to come. a long time ago, he’d come to believe in peace & belief. they guided how he treated anyone he’d meet. they made sure he’d always keep smiling.
