this morning #469.

this morning, she was walking by herself down avenues that reeked of time to kill. they were much cleaner than they had been when she’d first strolled down them a decade & a half ago. at that time, she was just one of the many LES artistes who hung out in the neighborhood’s bars & shops & music venues. the handful of those joints that were left standing from that era were now populated every evening by twenty-somethings chasing dreams that she & her friends had made seem achievable. believing the creative game remained the same today was beyond insane. once upon a time, she’d hoped it would be worth what she’d give up. now she knew better.
