this morning #451.

this morning, red, white & blue lights sparkling outside his neighbors’ home ushered in the day. peeking through the curtains, he had a front row seat to the scene of two EMTs straining to carry a rotund woman down the stairs on a stretcher, an oxygen mask affixed to her face. he debated going out to lend a hand but he’d never said a word to his neighbor & didn’t think it was his place. when the female EMT caught him peering, he ducked behind the curtains. what’d happened? who’d called 911 when it did? if he was in her shoes, he’d be screwed. maybe she’d used life alert®. maybe he should get it too. maybe he could ask his girlfriend to move in. both ideas seemed a bit extreme.
