this morning #439.
this morning, there was a sudden scraping sound that shocked them up out of bed & into a panic. they called out for signs of life & the only response was the seemingly distant cries of a hysterical cat, alerting them to the fact that they had both heard the scraping. this was no longer a dream. something surreal was afoot in the driveway but they wouldn’t know until the screams began & they rushed toward the front of the house, grabbing a bat along the way. what awaited was right out of a second-rate sam raimi flick. a young man in distress. a bent rotor blade. a foot gushing blood onto the lawn. a pekingese sniffing at the foot. across the street, a lawn ornament flower spun in the wind.
