this morning #355.
this morning, the trails were entirely empty as he pedaled along them at a pace that totally ignored safety concerns. the region’s recent dry spell had turned the ground to dust & much of the mud that he loved was now gone. though the terrain had been drained, it did wonders for his speed, allowing him to take corners without fear of wiping out. it didn’t give him x-ray vision though & on one curved section about an hour into the loop around the park, he finally saw his first parkgoers of the day. it was too late. by the time that they noticed each other, they were just fifteen feet apart. with a skid, he slid straight into the couple’s legs, tossing them into the air. his day had been quickly upended.
