this morning #348.

this morning, by banging out a rush-inspired drum solo on the diner table, their nervousness was on full display. fortunately, other than the waitress, there was only one other customer in the place & he had fallen asleep in the corner after consuming a huge plate of pancakes. with him out cold, for now they were free to drum all they wanted. that dude wasn’t waking up & they had known the waitress since they were a child, so she wouldn’t complain. what ended the drumming was the ring of the bells on the diner door as a man walked in. it had been so long since they’d seen him, this down-and-out, graying figure they’d once revered. today they’d attempt to get some of that feeling back.
