this morning #316.
this morning, their DNA was suddenly up for debate. for their entire life, they’d prided themselves on being 1/16th manchurian & 1/16th miwok. the fact that their ancestry was fractionally comprised of something other than caucasian blood was both a badge of honor & a frequent topic of conversation. all at once, it all shifted. the 23andme results arrived & there was clearly some sort of mix-up at the lab. what were these results? 60.1% armenian? 21.7% georgian? 17.3% chechen? 0.9% unassigned? they were literally 99.1% caucasian. no manchurian. no miwok. nothing to hang their hat on. instead, they were just another white person. at least they weren’t a part of the problem.
