this morning, students across this great nation were super charged up about the great heights that she was about to achieve. the very idea that a humble teacher plucked from the great masses would soon rocket through the sky & out of the atmosphere was in itself designed to inspire. a full smile & respectful wave on her way to the ship. a brave face & a solid 80’s new england hairdo as she connected with her adoring fans for the final time. no experiments broadcast from space. no more talk show appearances. no way for her to know this at the time. unfortunately, it wouldn’t be the last time her face would grace the mighty airwaves.
