this morning #2288.

this morning, the second that i stepped outside, it hit me. an acrid odor. like a big ol’ pile of tires had melted. i scanned the horizon in search of the source. expected to see a raging fire or worse but there was nothing. perhaps it’s due to a nearby leak. whatever it is, it reeks of TOXIC. AWESOME. i hopped in the car. headed to work. spent the entire drive in speculation mode. what if something serious is going down? what if it’s o serious that we’re forced to evacuate the area? i considered turning around & hunkering down but opted to keep going. when i got to the office, they had the tv on. top story on the news. there’d been some sort of accident at an industrial park in the neighboring town. the details were still coming in but the newscaster’s tone implied that we should worry.
