this morning #2250.
this morning, though it’d been like that for some time now, for the first time he truly took notice of the way that his stomach was perched upon the buckle of his belt. dangled over the top by about a half inch. he hadn’t been taking care of himself. that was no big secret. that total lack of self-care paired well with a lack of self-awareness to explain why he hadn’t given his midsection all that much thought up until this very moment. he sucked in. bunched together the excess fat in his hands. wondered how much the clump weighed. how many pounds would he lose if he was able to shave it away? ten maybe? he pulled the scale out of the closet & set it down on the floor before him. guessed how much he weighed these days before stepping on. wasn’t even close.
