this morning #2248.
this morning, all the ants on the planet were rapidly advancing on our house. arranged in a lengthy single file that started by the forest’s edge & stretched for at least a hundred feet toward the back patio. i bolted down into the cellar. pulled the sprayer off a shelf. gently shook it. still full. thank god. i hustled back upstairs & stood on the porch developing a plan of attack. regardless, it was about to be a massacre out here. didn’t want to spray the ones up front only to have the rest of them figure out what was happening. they might scatter. knew that i had to move swiftly down the line. with an unnecessary battle cry, i leapt off the porch. shook the earth below me as i landed. pulled the trigger & let loose a steady stream of the death juice as i ran up & down the line.
