this morning, the bakery case had called her over & now she stood in front of it overwhelmed by all the options. sweet or savory treat? why not one of each? she didn't want to be greedy but, for once, she could actually afford to forgo having to choose. flush with funds. made a TON of money this past weekend. the gods had been smiling down upon her. she opted for a strawberry cream donut. a slice of bacon quiche. took them both to her table & set them down side by side. took her time. a meditative bite from one & then the other. sips of coffee in between as the cafe hummed around her. focused while most of the other patrons rushed in & out. life was often that manic for her but not today. she just sat there. grin on her face. savoring the sweetness of the moment.
