this morning #2242.
this morning, what we’ve been building is mostly fulfilling but i can tell that the pressure to maintain a relationship is slowly killing him. for almost a year now, like clockwork, about once a month he disappears. goes someplace to cool off. we’ve been together long enough that i’m able to tell when he’s ready to escape. usually, it’s only for a day. so far, it hasn’t been much of an issue. he comes back feeling less trapped & i’m grateful for that. i’ve always believed in his love but he’s a complex man. it’s why i fell for him in the first place. getting away seems to have ceased being the solution though. makes sense. life’s rife with diminishing returns. he didn't say anything when he said bye & kissed me on the cheek but i knew. i’d mentally prepared to cook dinner for one tonight.
