this morning #2237.
this morning, now that the kids were out of the house for the whole week, she was using the opportunity to give the place a deep clean. wanted to get the project out of the way today. that way she could spend the next six days living in a non-chaotic space. brief sweet relief. decided to start with a sweep of the house. walked from room to room gathering strewn-about items. took them into the living room. threw them in a pile. shook her head at the sight. so much useless garbage. when had her family become such shameless consumers? back in college, she used to be the first one out there rallying against this sort of junk. CAPITALISM KILLS. she once owned a shirt with those words in large font on the front. perhaps she’d been wrong all along. it hadn’t killed them yet.
