this morning #2151.
this morning, he was still in the lead but she was quickly gaining speed. her legs began to burn from the pace of her pedaling but she shrugged it off. no way on earth that she was going to let him beat her. today, she was determined to get there first. the look on his face grew progressively desperate. from behind him though, she couldn’t tell. all she noticed was that, though her brother had cheated by taking off before she’d reached “three,” he was now struggling & starting to slow down. he’d spent all his energy. it didn’t matter that she was two years younger. his hubris was no match for her grit. as she sped past him in a blur, he hurled his worst insult at her. the little twit was about to get to school way before him.
