this morning #2131.

this morning, before i had a chance to stop her, she dropped one hell of a bombshell on our unsuspecting audience. from the back of the hall, i had a panoramic view of the murmurs as they pulsed & grew & spread throughout the crowd. as the first furious shouts rang out, i hustled down the center aisle to the stage to try to deescalate. shouldn’t have trusted her to listen to me but i’d believed she’d had more sense than to reveal the truth to a packed room of riled-up fans. would’ve been better saved for later. i’d warned that they weren’t ready to learn that the character whose life they’d doggedly followed for a dozen books was not at all who they’d thought. i leapt on stage to save her. they got to her first.
