this morning, she planted her first flowers of the season. lined the house with sweet peas & zinnias & poppies. this year, her property’s really going to pop off. become the most appealing home on the block. now that the home’s all hers—her decisions and her decisions alone to make—she has all sorts of plans for the place. a ton of spring upgrades. a stone walkway leading up to the front door. a BBQ-ready patio out back. a manicured lawn encircling the house. that tree that’s been casting its nasty shadow over the whole yard ever since her and her ex bought the place back in 2011 is out. sayonara stupid tree! let there be light! she smiled. by summer by god, the neighbors will all be talking about how great her place looks.
