this morning #206.

this morning, he reached deep down into his soul & unleashed the power of meat. when he stepped out of the kitchen with plenty of pork piled high on a plate, a room full of hungry eyes were on him. this part of his morning routine consistently brought him the most joy. the sheer scale of poverty had ceased to stun him a long time ago, so he was actually able to focus on the food & the need & good in the deed. he saw it most acutely in the eyes of the men who he served. by trading his necessities for theirs, he was able to keep his own issues at arm’s length. armed with the knowledge that to love your fellow man is to love oneself, he filled their bellies & filled his heart.
