this morning #2050.

this morning, on his way out of town, he decided to make a quick pit stop. swing by the shop to say his final goodbye. he knew there was a chance that he might not be welcome there any more but he was still willing to give it a shot. what’s the worst that could happen? for all he knew, they weren’t aware or didn’t even care that, on his last day of work, he helped himself to a rather rare bottle of merlot. parting gift. he pulled the u-haul into the lot. got out and, as he neared, noticed that all the lights were off inside. on the door, there was a sign scrawled in sharpie: CLOSED TODAY. FAMILY EMERGENCY. yikes. he went back to the truck. took one last look at the shop. cranked the stereo & hit the road. hoped that nobody had died.
