this morning #2016.

this morning, though the rest of us decided that it was time to turn back, he chose to keep going, knowing that the path ahead was likely strewn with all manner of obstacles. potential peril around every corner. always swimming against the tide, that guy. i wish i could get inside his head & comprehend why he didn’t see what we did. maybe he did & had opted to ignore it. maybe he’s simply unafraid of the unknown. one of the guys pulled him aside & tried to reason with him. said we could all try again at a later date. revisit it at a time when it felt safer. he didn’t feel like waiting any longer though, so we had to let him go it alone. he shook each of our hands & we watched as he waved goodbye & walked off down the road.
