this morning #198.

this morning, out in the garden amongst his vegetables, he observed the bounty before him with an air of satisfaction. in a long year full of death, he admired his continued ability to create life & then, in turn, use it to sustain the lives of he & his family. all hail kale. three cheers for chard. hard work that had yielded results for the big softy. his quince tree was the jewel of his backyard oasis, the first thing he had planted when he & his wife bought their herefordshire home twenty years ago. they could brand him “the quaint quince guy” all they wanted. all this growth from the ground around him had led to a grounded sense of self. worrying about how others saw him was no longer fruitful.
