this morning #1908.

this morning, just like i’d been doing every morning for time immemorial, i dumped the day’s pills out onto the kitchen counter. one pill for my eyes. another for my blood. one that i started taking because of an ache in my knee. doesn’t seem to be working like it once did. the pink pill supposedly helps with my focus. filling out the lineup of meds is a fifth one that helps with the headaches. my son keeps saying that he’s going to have a talk with the doc. see if i really need to take all of them. he’s a nosy nellie like that. i ask you—did he go to medical school? no. he did not. i always said that he should but he wanted to be a musician. insisted on “following his heart.” broke mine in the process.
