this morning #1806.
this morning, john woke up before any of us & whipped up a ridiculously delicious brunch for the team. it’s sort of become his thing. excessive but delicious. likely his last hurrah after months of weekend brunches. challah french toast. the most colorful fruit salad known to man. a breakfast taco bar. three types of pancakes. freshly-squeezed OJ. yogurt with walnuts & figs. a kale quiche. multiple meats. when we were done eating, we all just sat there in silence, none of us ready to move. then irene spoke up & we ended up taking a vote. it was unanimous. naps ‘til noon. one by one, we got up & went back to our rooms to sleep off the feast. reconvened in the afternoon, renewed & not feeling at all guilty about wasting half the day.
