this morning #1398.
this morning, since they’d insisted on an ad campaign that was “mad gritty,” i was going to give them exactly what they’d asked for. i aim to please, after all. the client is always right. at our initial meeting, one of them actually used the words “we envision a campaign that screams ‘from the streets.’” these two dudes with tattoos kept using the word “graffiti” like it was a new word they’d just learned. i leaned back. took it all in. tried to play it cool. listened as this group of squares formulated a half-baked vision right before my eyes. i’m not sure that an “urban” angle is the best fit for their napa winery but if that’s the way they want to play things, i’ll make sure that they’re known as the “grimy winery.”
