this morning #1328.

this morning, the pain came in waves. as each one crested & crashed, i felt like i might pass out. i dragged my ass to the bathroom. stepped into the shower & turned on the water. did it as quick as i could. kept it cold to shock the senses back to life. stood there & took it like a man. as the iciness washed over me, i got fixated on the jagged sounds of the air vent fan wheezing & struggling up above. it must’ve been a minute, maybe two, before the daze subsided & i snapped back to. i made the water a little bit hotter. while the pain still remained, it was much less overwhelming. i knew i’d eventually have to tell somebody about this shit. cold showers are really just a temporary fix.
