this morning #1286.

this morning, there wasn’t a single leaf left on the tree. it’s crazy. for all i know, that tree’s been bare for weeks. probably longer. it’s official. fall’s fully fallen & a winter wind’s blown in to replace it. the seasons have literally changed. it’s strange how that happens whether you’re paying attention or not. while that was going on, i’ve sort of been absorbed in sorting out my life. it’s forgivable. when life’s basically a series of hour-long phone calls with creditors, it’s easy to overlook that the warblers have migrated to warmer environs. i have to remind myself that it’s all part of life’s large cycle. if everything goes as planned, i’ll make it to the other side of winter just fine. in spring, i’ll notice when the birds return.
