this morning #1216.
this morning, i assured her that she didn’t look fat. she did the same for me. sometimes, we lie to each other like this. in the grand scheme of things, it’s no big deal. helps even. one time, i swore that i didn’t know where she was taking us on vacation. she replied by swearing on my grave that she had no vacation planned. we spent ten days in st croix. little white lies. our strangely subversive form of flirting. partly, with a chance of enhanced surprise. i don’t care if she doesn’t share every little detail with me. every once in a while, we all need some sense of mystery in our lives. in the end, as long as we mostly focus on the truth, nobody gets all that hurt.
