this morning #1181.

this morning, through an intro from a mutual friend, we’d made a plan to meet at my favorite café for a coffee & a casual chat. i was excited. a little bit nervous. at our age, new friends are rare. a blessing for sure. it was so sweet of cheryl to recognize that we were both nora roberts buffs & put us in touch. when i arrived, she was already there. i’d seen a few pics of her, so i instantly recognized her sitting at a table next to the bathroom. she got up & hugged me. i didn’t want to be weird so i hugged her back. we sat. chatted. laughed. it was nice. then i started getting a vibe. i tried to shake the vibe away but when, with a wink, she asked me back to her place, i knew the truth. i was evidently on a date.
