this morning #1167.

this morning, the doorman held the door & doffed his cap & i nodded back as i passed by him on my way out for my morning walk. we don’t talk as much as we used to. nowadays our interaction is pretty much just this. grunts & gestures & one-word recognitions. there once was a time when we made a solid effort to get to know each other. he’s got two kids in junior high. wife named pam. one year, we even watched the super bowl together at a bar. we were in this weird middle ground between butler & friend. then i went & made things weird by bringing home a few women a few times when the wife was away on business. it’s really none of his business. he just hates having to keep secrets.
