this morning #101.
this morning, she was utterly beside herself. standing in front of the bathroom mirror, she surveyed the way that her left eye drooped ever so slightly. you couldn’t really notice it unless she was in the vicinity of a fluorescent light. even then, it wasn’t until something like winking or crying brought it to your attention. after living with it for years, it wasn’t like she needed help noticing it. still, her current locale & sniffling tears provided the ideal circumstances. she’d been obsessing over the high school romance that took her virginity. when the other half of that romance abruptly reappeared after twenty years of forgetting, all the feelings came back with him. turns out she never got past him. now she was stuck with the past.
