this morning #966.

this morning, i tried to get his attention without attracting too much attention. he needed to take heed of how loud he was speaking into his phone. mom had told me that his hearing had gone but i hadn’t imagined it was this bad. it was a sad sight to see. i read the room. it seemed like nobody else was going to step up & set him straight. if i didn’t say something, he just might say something that shouldn’t be heard by all these funeral folk. nobody needs to know your wife’s sister tina’s business. please, uncle. take your call outside. don’t embarrass yourself. don’t embarrass someone else. he got the message. nodded at me. stepped outside so we could mourn his mom in peace.
