this morning #953.
this morning, history weighed heavy on me. on this day fifty years ago, the world shifted & shook. i know i’m not the only one who felt it. i didn’t know it at the time, but war criminal kissinger was on a plane to paris to sign the agreement that’d end our involvement in vietnam, put an end to americans dying over there. it wasn’t soon enough to save my brother but on that very same day, in a somewhat satisfying stroke of irony, the man who’d sent him to die—LBJ—dropped dead. that was some consolation. the day wasn’t all about death though. there was the roe decision. fifty years ago today, as vietnam & LBJ both officially ended, seven men stepped up & essentially saved my life.
