this morning #863.

this morning, i was determined to get back to the land. as a kid, i was a total fan of the great outdoors. in adulthood, i hadn’t been giving them their proper due. these days, if i had to rate the outdoors, i’d say that they’re “good.” “great” is a word that’s reserved for dictators, lakes & pumpkins. this summer, while back home for a moment, i reconnected with a childhood friend. she convinced me that by living a solidly-urban existence, i was denying myself all the gifts the good outdoors had to offer. city living was constantly kicking my anxiety into high gear. while sporadic contact with squirrels & birds wouldn’t solve all of my problems, they’d definitely help me forget them for a moment.
