this morning #838.

this morning, i turned a corner & found myself standing right in front of a bridal shop, pausing for a moment before deciding i had plenty of time to go inside & try a few things on. the twenty-something manning the store greeted me with so much excitement & naivety. for a brief flash, i almost felt bad about wasting her time like this but one of my aunts recently said she couldn’t picture me getting married. truth be told, i couldn’t either so i hoped that this wedding dress dress-up sesh would provide clarity. over the course of four dresses, i got the full pampering. floral tea & all. in the mirror, i really did look like a woman who didn’t have to dream up a fiancée & a wedding to prove a point.
