this morning #82.
this morning, the temperature inside the tent had risen to a stifling level, rendering his clothes a puddle of post-hiking, post-sleep slush. he stripped naked & stepped out into the forest air. at these higher elevations, the frigid summer night was in an ongoing pissing match with the scorching summer day. day nine. he’d been out here in the backcountry for eight days straight trying to clear his head & now the clever revelations were flowing. man & nature are one. man IS nature. civilization’s sounds are stifling our sense of serenity. there are way too many people. fresh oxygen can cure diseases. bears don’t play. he didn’t have any revelations after that.
