this morning #811.
this morning, while waiting for what felt like FOREVER on the corner for my ride to come by & take me to the construction site, i watched all these different stages of the life cycle cycle through my field of vision. i didn’t identify with any of them. asian grandmas pushing toddlers in strollers steered away from me. backpacked teens preened & held hands & laughed in my direction as they stumbled past. a hot twenty-something white girl walking her dog tugged at its leash to keep a healthy distance between us. by the time my ride arrived, i was pretty desperate for human connection. the dozen other men crammed in the back of the pickup would have to do.
