this morning #806.

this morning, i’d arrived way early for what’d turn out to be the final game the shenandoah shitkickers would ever play. like often happens with life’s pivot points, in the moment there was no way to know that that would be the case. when i’d first arrived, there was a lone car in the lot. a burgundy ‘87 dodge charger. it wasn’t familiar, so i parked at a distance, listened to some skynyrd in my truck until most of us had shown up. by the time the game was over, there’d still been no sign of movement from the charger, so i decided peek in. in the backseat lay the one dude who hadn’t shown up for the game. lifeless. no. definitely not. i won’t divulge which teammate it was for your stupid website.
