this morning #753.
this morning, the winds were really swirling around as i walked my way downtown to grab a dozen donuts for today’s morning meeting. mere seconds after turning the corner onto main street, an american flag violently flapped across my path, its corner scraping straight across my eyes. the blinding tears came almost instantly. the irony was not lost on me. as of late, everything about this nation made me cry. why wouldn’t the symbol of it LITERALLY do so too? as i stood there rubbing my eyes, trying to regain my sense of sight, the cacophony of cars & commerce around me took on outsized stature. in a rich twist, they became harder to ignore when i couldn’t see them right in front of me.
